When something's happening on the North Devon music scene it's quite likely that Jamie Harper will write about it in his weekly soundCHECK column on the pages of the North Devon Journal.
Local music makers are always thrilled to see themselves named in a soundCHECK column. Jamie's articulate, personal musings on the ins and outs of music in North Devon have become a must-go-to for what's going on in our musically abundant region. I must admit I was chuffed to see Talli's Music Blog from Arts and Entertainment North Devon given a mention a while back.
Jamie's been having his say via soundCHECK since 2009 and now he has compiled an online archive of every one of his articles since then on his Wordpress soundCHECK site. What's more the posts are Jamie's original unedited columns so you will get each soundCHECK in its original purest form!
Jamie says: "When soundCHECK started there was so much happening musically in North Devon that it deserved a commentary – and I wanted to contribute to that. And so it was that the first column was published on July 2nd 2009. I’ve written one every week since. Please rifle through the archives and get crazy with old bits of my writing."
