| | Last night I had the pleasure of being invited to the private view of an exhibition of work by local young artists. Life in Bideford is being hosted by Young Devon at their fab refurbished premises on Bideford High Street by the Junction with Grenville Street. The exhibition is on for this weekend only but happily coincides with Bideford Heritage Day tomorrow, Saturday 30 June. |
Young artists from Bideford have been invited to exhibit work at the Young Devon premises which make an excellent exhibition space.
I chatted to two young photographers who had work on display. I particularly loved Louis Winyard Sears's black and white photo of the pebble ridge at Westward Ho! There is so much going on in this picture (see gallery above) and I could almost smell the sea air and feel the wind when I looked at it.
Tillie Corlett also had some black and white photographs on show. Tillie told me that her two pictures in the show are part of her final A level project at Petroc. Tillie heard about the exhibition opportunity through her work as a volunteer at Young Devon in Bideford. She said "It's great for young people to be able to show their work outside of school or college."
There is a wide range of work on show at the Life in Bideford exhibition from film and photography to painting, drawing and stencil work by the mysterious "Zen".
